JERUSALEM, (Reuters) –Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Tuesday that Israel will not necessarily oppose a deal with Iran on a nuclear basis but the world must adopt a stronger position.

Bennett told Israel’s Army Radio that he was not “the bear who said no” and made reference to the popular, anti-naysaying character in children’s literature.

He stated that Israel values a more results-oriented approach.

There can certainly be good agreements. For sure. The parameters are known. Are we able to predict what will happen in these current conditions? No. He said that there must be a firmer position.”

“Iran negotiates with very weak hands.” The world, however, is acting as if Iran has a very strong hand.

Bennett did not comment on Israel’s missile strike capabilities against Iran. He said that he liked the idea of speaking little but doing a lot.

On Monday, Iran and the United States resumed indirect talks https://www.reuters.com/markets/commodities/irans-oil-exports-are-focus-vienna-nuclear-talks-top-diplomat-says-2021-12-27 in Vienna on salvaging the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with Iran focused on one side of the original bargain, lifting sanctions against it, despite what critics see as scant progress on reining in its atomic activities.
