Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index rose 0.26% at the close of NYSE. It also reached a new one-month high. However, it lost 0.10% and fell 0.56%.

Walt was the best performer of the session. Disney Company (NYSE :), rose 1.57%, or 2.40 points, to trade at 155.00 at the closing. Meanwhile, Boeing Co (NYSE:), gained 1.46%, or 2.96 points, to close at 206.13. Walmart Inc (NYSE;) was up 1.4% or 2.02 to 142.78 late trade.

Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE) was the worst performer of the session, falling 1.10% or 2.85 point to close at 255.45. Nike Inc (NYSE:), fell 0.9% or 1.16 point to finish at 166.42. Apple Inc, (NASDAQ:), was down 0.58% (or 1.04 points) to 179.29.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Campbell Soup Company (NYSE) rose 2.80%, to 43.36. Ball Corporation(NYSE:), which was up 2.59% to settle in at 94.30. American Airlines Group (NASDAQ:) Closed at 18.54 by 2.04%

They were among the most disappointing. DexCom Inc (NASDAQ) was trading at 7.09% lower than 529.50 during late trade Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 3.46% to settle for 221.73 Penn National Gaming Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 2.89% to 49.34 by the end.

Top performers of the NASDAQ Composite are Insignia Systems Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 64.82% up to 19.020 ShiftPixy Inc (NASDAQ) was up 43.09% and settled at 1.120 Pop Culture Group Co Ltd (NASDAQ :), which saw a 35.88% increase to close at 2.31

They were among the most disappointing. Biofrontera Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 was trading at a 29.50%-to-8.10 ratio in late trade. Powerbridge Technologies Co Ltd (NASDAQ) lost 25.45% to settle for 0.6933 Sensus Healthcare Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 22.67%, to 6.310 at close.

The New York Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpassing advancing stocks by 1725 to 1503, and 136 finished unchanged. On the Nasdaq Stock Exchange however, 24994 were down and 1330 moved on, while 182 was unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 0.79% to 17.54 a new 1-month low.

The February delivery of Gold Futures was 0.12% lower or 2.20 at $1806.60 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 0.45% or 0.45 to $76.02 per barrel in February, and March Brent oil contract rose 0.08 or 0.06 to $78.84 per barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.4% at 1.1313, USD/JPY was up 0.00%, and USD/JPY was up 0.00% at 112.82.

At 96.165, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.08%.
