(Reuters) – A U.S. trade association representing major cargo and passenger airlines requested that the Federal Communications Commission stop the deployment of 5G wireless services at certain airport locations.

AT&T (NYSE:) and Verizon Communications (NYSE:) will deploy the C-Band spectrum 5G service they have won through a $80 billion auction. Federal Aviation Administration and the aviation industry have expressed concerns over interference from 5G with sensitive electronics such as radio altimeters, which could cause delays or even divert flights.
