After the Nuggets were infected with COVID-19, the NBA announced that the Golden State Warriors contest against Denver was postponed.
Since Dec. 14, 11 NBA games were postponed.
On Thursday, also, the NHL announced that COVID-19-related issues affecting the Dallas Stars had forced the NHL to postpone their Jan. 2 match at Arizona Coyotes.
Due to the flood of COVID-19-related cases, more than 80 NHL games were postponed this month.
After positive testing by several team players for the virus, the International Ice Hockey Federation decided to postpone the junior world championships that were being held in Edmonton and Red Deer.
Skate Canada, in an attempt to prevent another shutdown, announced that the January 6-13 Canadian National Figure Skating champions will take place in Ottawa.
