(Reuters] – Americans will soon be able order COVID-19 test online starting Jan. 19. This is part of a Plan by President Joe Biden that distributes 1 Billion at-home quick kits to stop the spread Omicron variant.

HOW DO I ORDER?

Beginning Jan. 19, U.S. residents can order four COVID test online for free at www.COVIDTests.gov. The White House states that the four-test limit is necessary to ensure broad access in the face of a nationwide testing shortage.

The American households are able to order additional tests, but it didn’t say.

Biden’s administration will launch an automated call center to assist Americans who are unable to order online. They will also work with local groups to provide support for those in need of testing.

HOW and WHEN WILL TESTS BE DELIVERED?

This administration will collaborate with the U.S. The administration will work with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), to pack and deliver test packages. It claims that tests usually arrive seven to twelve days after they are ordered.

All USPS first-class packages will be shipped to the United States. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and other U.S. Territories will go by priority mail.

Administration says that it will prioritise processing orders to households in the most vulnerable areas and communities with high COVID-19 death and case rates, especially during Omicron surge.

Biden promised to buy 1 billion home tests for Americans. A senior administration official indicated on Friday that Biden could order more.

According to the White House, contracts have been awarded by the U.S. for over 420 million test runs. Additional contracts are expected in the weeks ahead.

WHAT IS THE INSURANCE COMPANY RETAINEMENT?

Biden’s administration has launched a test drive for free and will require that all health insurers cover American at-home testing kit costs, starting Jan. 15.

According to the White House, insurance companies and health plans must cover 8 tests per person per month.
