U.S. reports case of highly pathogenic avian flu in a wild bird -Breaking

CHICAGO, (Reuters) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed Friday that the South Carolina bird had contracted avian flu from a pathogenic strain.
According to the agency, Eurasian H5 Avian Influenza was discovered in an American wild wigeon from Colleton County in South Carolina. The agency advised chicken producers to examine safety precautions to ensure the birds’ health.
