Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index losing 0.02% and the market lost 0.01% at the closing.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd., which gained 4.42% (or 32.30 points) to trade at 762.50 close at the close, were the top performers. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS) was up 1.80%, or 70.25 point to reach 3968.15 Indian Oil Corporation Late trade saw Ltd (NS) rise 1.77%, or 2.15 points, to 123.30

They were also the session’s worst performers Asian Paints Ltd. (NS), fell 2.66% to trade at 3364.40 after the close. AXIS Bank Ltd., NS: fell 2.57% to 721.70. Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NS 🙂 dropped 2.09% to 2363.70, or 50.50 points.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) which rose 1.84% to 3969.25, Infosys Ltd (BO:) which was up 1.64% to settle at 1928.20 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.32% to close at 2044.75.

Asian Paints Ltd., which fell 2.66% at 3364.80 late trade, AXIS Bank Ltd.(BO:), which dropped 2.54% at 721.60 settlement, and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. which declined 2.13% at 2364.50 close.

Indian National Stock Exchange: Rising stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1071 to 721; 23 ended unchanged. On Bombay Stock Exchange: 1989 rose, 1300 fell, 95 finished unchanged.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.’s shares rose 1.80% to reach all-time highs, or 70.25 to 3968.55. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. shares (BO) reached all-time highs, up 1.84% or 71.6 to 3969.25. Infosys Ltd. shares (BO) reached all-time highs with a gain of 1.64%, or 31.20 to 28.20.20. Shares in Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.32% or 26.65 to 2044.75.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was down by 0.90%, to 16.5550.

The February Gold Futures were up 0.6%, or 1.05 to $1822.45 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose by 1.10%, or 0.90, to $83.02 per barrel. The March Brent oil contract rose by 1.21%, or 1.02, to $85.49 per barrel.

USD/INR increased 0.9% to 74.111 while EUR/INR increased 0.23% at 84.8925.

At 94.780, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.01%.
