CasperLabs announced a partnership on Friday with China’s Blockchain-based Service Network. Through the agreement, which has been minted as a nonfungible token, or NFT, as a sign of commemoration, Casper Network will be added as the blockchain of choice to the Fuzhou City Chain for use in public and private crypto infrastructure developments in the region — dubbed “Fuzhou Chain powered by Casper.” RockTree Capital was an investment firm based in New York that played a crucial role in the establishment of the alliance between Casper City and Fuzhou City.

According to stakeholders, the main purpose of the partnership is to allow BSN to benefit from Casper’s security, scalability and decentralization. It also allows for the use open-permissioned Blockchain (or OPB) protocol, to remove the requirement to use cryptocurrencies for gas fees. BSN launched in 2019. It has since grown to include 120 cities across China. They serve as data centers and process transactions through its umbrella blockchain networks.
