Twitter rolls out NFT profile pic for iOS By BTC Peers

Just a few hours after it was announced that Instagram and Meta would support non-fungible tokens, (NFTs), Twitter (NYSE) launched iOS support for digital collectibles.
This is a clear attempt by these social media giants to compete with each other. Twitter on Thursday announced that Twitter Blue’s paid subscribers would have access to the NFT function.

Tutorial video showing how users can connect to their wallets including MetaMask (NASDAQ:) Wallet and Ledger Live and choose an NFT for their profile photo. It should take just a few seconds.
You can find out about other NFT avatars and verify that a profile photo of NFT on platforms such as OpenSea is authentic. According to Twitter, the latest feature does not allow its platform to maintain an ongoing connection with a user’s crypto wallet. Instead, the public address is saved and verified to make sure that the NFT avatar remains in the hands of the user.
Twitter stated in September it had plans to launch an NFT verification tool. The functionality is obviously still in its early stages and the announcement may have been fueled by Meta’s foray into the NFT space. The feature supports PNG and static JPEG files only from the blockchain.
No information about the owner will appear when users click the photo if they sell the NFT or transfer it while the NFT is being used for their profile picture.
While the verification feature allows you to confirm ownership, it is not possible for a Twitter user to find a loophole. Blockchain enthusiast @HollanderAdam claims that anyone can right-click and save an NFT from their Twitter profile. They can then mint the item, which they can use as their avatar.
This is a MAJOR problem with Twitter’s new PFP feature. It appears that it works for all NFTs in your collection. It doesn’t just work for verified collections.
