Twitter criticized by Elon Musk for launching NFT features

Tesla (NASDAQ:) CEO Elon Musk is not buying Twitter’s new NFT integration feature. Musk slammed Twitter (NASDAQ:) CEO Elon Musk for not buying the new NFT integration feature. He also criticised Facebook’s inability to address spam on their platform and allocating engineering resources toward NFT integration.

Musk’s criticism of Twitter’s lack of trying to curb spam activity is not farfetched. To promote cryptocurrency giveaways, malicious actors create fake accounts in order to portray the Tesla boss or other prominent figures. An impersonator claiming to be Musk in 2020 was able, among other things, to steal $2,000,000 from numerous victims. Interestingly, crypto scammers had already set camp on Musk’s tweet complaining about their activities. One commented:

We are offering $10,000,000 in coins to celebrate Tesla merchandise buyable with It’s a rare opportunity to be a millionaire.

BTC PEERS reports that Twitter Blue began offering access to NFT-verified profile photos for users. The new feature has been adopted by some users, who already have hexagon-shaped avatars that display NFT photos.

Twitter’s move trails Meta’s plans to support NFT trading and verification in the coming months.
