KYIV (Reuters – On Saturday, Kyiv received the first shipment of $200 million United States security support package to Ukraine.

Following U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken’s recent visit to Kyiv, concerns were raised by Kyiv and its Western allies regarding the presence of Russian troops at the Ukrainian border. Russia denied any plans to launch a military offensive.

In December, Washington approved the package worth $200 million.

On Facebook, it stated: “The United States will continue to provide such assistance to Ukraine’s Armed Forces to assist them in their ongoing effort against Russian aggression.”

Ukraine’s defence minister thanked the United States for the aid.
