WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – U.S. House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday that she would run for a 19th term. This signaled that Pelosi could seek to lead her caucus again after previously stating she would step down after 2022.

California’s 81-year old lawmaker, who was also the first woman speaker in California, had been expecting to step down as her party prepares for possible losses of its majority in November 8 midterm elections.
