Wall St drops at open as tech selloff deepens; Fed meeting eyed -Breaking

(Reuters). Wall Street’s key indexes lost on Tuesday, as a selloff by technology stocks before the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting overshadowed optimistic results from blue-chip firms including IBM (3M)

At the opening bell, the index fell by 177.86 point, or 0.522% to 34.186.64. At 4,366.64, the open was 43.49 points lower, or 0.99%. The close fell by 244.26 point (or 1.76%) to 13,610.87.
