Christel Heydemann named as first female CEO of telecoms group Orange -Breaking

PARIS (Reuters – Orange France, France’s largest telecoms operator, has named Christel Heydemann its new chief executive. This makes her the first female to head the ex-monopoly in the midst of a restructuring its governance. Orange’s former CEO, tweeted Friday.

“We are delighted to have Christel Heydemann as our future chief executive officer of Orange. Stephane Richard stated that she was a woman of high professional and interpersonal qualities who will be able to face the challenges facing the group with the support of the main wealth we have: the teams around the world.

Heydemann is moving from French electric equipment manufacturer Schneider Electric to Orange

After a conviction by a court, Stephane Richard was convicted of being complicit in the misuse of public money.

Richard has been the Orange leader for 12 years and denies any wrongdoing.
