(Reuters) – T-Mobile US – Inc (NASDAQ) Inc plans to terminate corporate employees not completely vaccinated against COVID-19 before April 2 according to an internal memo published on TMOnews.com.

According to the blog, T-Mobile announced its new policy on Friday via email sent by its Human Resource Chief to all employees. It follows a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Jan. 13 that blocked President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccination-or-testing mandate for large businesses.

According to the memo, employees who don’t take immediate action and submit proof of their first vaccine by February 21st will be on unpaid leave. T-Mobile employees will not be able to get fully immunized if they don’t submit proof by February 21.

A memo addressed to “all employees (except international)” explained that the rules regarding vaccines do not apply for field technicians, most in-store retail jobs and many other roles.

In a statement on Saturday, T-Mobile said “we are requiring office workers (with limited exception for certain roles, locations and legally mandated accommodations and exemptions) to be fully vaccinated by April 2.” The company stated that only those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 can access badge-controlled office locations.
