In order to withdraw funds or deposit money into non-custodial wallets of their customers, Swiss financial cryptocurrency intermediaries require proof that the address of an external wallet is owned. Address Ownership Proof Protocol or AOPP is an automated way to do this.
Trezor’s hardware wallet IntroductionAOPP signed as part its January update. Users can now generate signatures that comply with the AOPP standard in specific jurisdictions. On Jan. 28, Trezor AnnouncementThis protocol will be removed in the Trezor suite update, “after careful consideration” of feedback.
