Italy’s Dolce & Gabbana to ditch fur -Breaking

REUTERS/Tony GentileMILAN (Reuters) – Italian luxury group Dolce&Gabbana will stop using fur in all its collections from this year, the fashion brand said on Monday in a joint statement with animal rights association Humane Society International.
Fedele Usai, the communication and marketing manager for the group said that “the entire fashion industry has a significant role in social responsibility” and should be encouraged.
In order to maintain jobs and knowledge, the label will move to eco fur garments and accessories.
Many companies have pledged to ban animal fur, such as Armani, in order to appeal to younger customers. Kering (PA:), Prada, (OTC:), Valentino Versace, Moncler, and the luxury e-commerce platform Yoox, (MI:), Net-a-Porter.
