Spain’s January jobless rises from December to 3.12 million -Breaking

(Reuters) – In Spain, the number of those registering as jobless rose 0.55% from December to January, or 17.173 people. The increase means that 3.12million people are out of work.

The increase in January was still the lowest recorded for 25 years. This is a month where unemployment rises as many of the temporary hospitality and agricultural contracts expire.

Spain saw an increase of 71,948 net job opportunities in the last month. Meanwhile, the state-backed furlough program supported by Spain grew 2.4% to 105.043, according to separate data from Social Security Ministry.
