U.S. CDC backs full approval of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine -Breaking

(Reuters] – U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director (CDC), signed off to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration full approval. Moderna The agency announced Friday that the COVID-19 vaccine was available to all 18-year-olds.

Since December 2020, the U.S Food and Drug Administration has authorized the use of the vaccine under an emergency authorization. This vaccine is currently the second approved for COVID-19.

A CDC panel voted to endorse the use of the vaccine earlier on Friday. The FDA had approved the shot Monday.

The FDA has approved vaccines. However, it is up to the CDC to approve how the vaccines will be used in America. Final formality in the approval is given by Rochelle Walensky (CDC Director).

Spikevax will be the new brand name for this vaccine.

COVID-19 vaccination Pfizer Inc (NYSE 🙂 and BioNTechSE (NASDAQ 🙂 both received approval from the FDA for 16-year-olds and older in August.

Moderna shot has been administered to approximately 75 million Americans.
