U.S. stocks mixed at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.06% -Breaking

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index lost 0.06% at the close of NYSE. However, it rose 0.52% and gained 1.58%.

Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE 🙂 was the best performer of the session, rising 3.04% (6.46 points) to close at 219.23. Meanwhile, JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:) added 2.60% or 3.86 points to end at 152.56 and Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: ) rose 2.43%, or 8.72 points, to 367.60 during late trade.

3M Company (NYSE 🙂 was the worst performer of the session, falling 2.23% or 3.66 point to close at 160.73. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:) declined 1.82% or 0.90 points to end at 48.60 and Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:) was down 1.59% or 2.61 points to 161.53.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 13.54% to 3152.79, NortonLifeLock Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 8.71% to settle at 27.59 and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 closed at 175.00 after closing up 7.35%.

These were the worst performers Clorox Co (NYSE.) was down 14.47% at 141.41 late trade. Ford Motor Company (NYSE.) lost 9.70% and settled at 17.96. Newell Brands Inc was at the close with a loss of 8.53% to 21.33.

The top two performers in the NASDAQ Composite were Sphere 3D Corp, which rose 31.17% from 3.030 to eGain Corporation, which rose 26.82% and settled at 12.74. Iradimed Co (NASDAQ) which gained 23.66% and closed at 48.60

These were the worst performers SkyWest Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 22.37% to 29,47 in late trading, G Medical Innovations Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which lost 21.80% to settle at 3.30 and Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 17.88% to 12.03 by the end.

On the New York Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those in progress by 1689-1520, and 123 ended unchanged.

Clorox Company (NYSE:) shares fell to their 3-year lows. They lost 14.47%, or 23.93 to 141.41. 3M Company (NYSE 🙂 shares fell 52 weeks to their lowest level; losing 2.23%, or 3.66 to 160.73. SkyWest Inc (NASDAQ) shares fell 52 weeks to their lowest level; down 22.37% or 8.49 to 29.47. Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. shares (NASDAQ) plunged to 52-week lowest levels; down 17.88% or 2.62 from 12.03.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 4.64% to 23.22.

For April delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.27% to $1808.90 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 1.68 percent or $91.95 per barrel to reach $91.95 per barrel in March. The April Brent oil contract rose 1.67 or 1.83% to $92.78 per barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.1% at 1.1449 and USD/JPY was up 0.2% at 115.21.

US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.8% at 95.455
