(Reuters] -Twitter Inc claimed Friday that it fixed a problem in its microblogging website which caused problems for many thousands of its users.

We’ve resolved a bug in the timeline that prevented Tweets from being posted and delayed loading. Things should be back to normal now,” the company said in a tweet https://twitter.com/TwitterSupport/status/1492200491769597960.

Earlier, Twitter (NYSE:) had said on its status page https://api.twitterstat.us that it was facing an elevated number of application programming interface errors, a set of protocols for building and integrating application software.

More than 40,000 people had submitted outages to Downdetector. This website tracks outages and collates status reports from many sources. It also accepts user submissions.

Reddit users complained about being log out from their Twitter accounts. Others claimed they couldn’t send or retrieve Twitter messages.
