(Reuters) – The United States Trade Representative (USTR), said Tuesday that it opposes Canada’s plans to enact a tax on digital services (DST) in Canada and urged Canada not to take such a move.

In a statement, the USTR office announced that it had urged Canada to stop considering unilateral action and to instead redouble their commitment to rapid implementation Pillar One under the Oct 8 OECD/G20 accord and to negotiations for a multilateral agreement.
