PARIS (Reuters) – Qatar Airways has filed a lawsuit against Airbus over its decision to revoke a contract to purchase 50 A321neo aircraft after it rejected larger A350s due to surface problems.

According to the airline, it has stated that Airbus’s move would cause “severe disruption” and that damages will be sought in addition to $600 million A350 compensation it already seeks.

Qatar’s claim over the A321neo was made as Airbus, which had planned to make its own counter-claim regarding the A350 dispute. However, the details have yet not been published. Both sides are locked in an intense safety and contractual dispute that has been going on for several months.
