European Parliament postpones crypto bill vote over proof-of-work -Breaking

[ad_1]

Amid concerns regarding proof-of-work miners, the European Union parliament delayed a vote to approve a regulation framework that would regulate cryptocurrencies.

Stefan Berger is a member of European Parliament’s Economics Committee. A vote for the Markets in Crypto Assets framework, also known as MiCA (Markets in Crypto Assets) had to be cancelled by the government. It was scheduled to occur on Monday. Berger said parliament needed to clarify “the question of proof-of-work” in discussions with stakeholders to ensure a proper legal framework, adding that some might misinterpret the proposal as a ban on crypto.
