(Reuters) – Nike Inc (NYSE 🙂 made Russian merchandise purchase on its website and mobile app inaccessible as it could not guarantee delivery of the goods to Russia customers. This was according to an update published on Tuesday on the website by the sportswear company.

This is the U.S.’s latest response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It includes Warner Bros and Hollywood studios Disney. Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced they are suspending theatrical releases for upcoming Russian movies.

Russia however calls Ukraine’s actions a “special operation.”

However, the update to Nike’s website directed customers to the nearest Nike store, though it wasn’t immediately apparent when that disclosure was made.

Nike’s actions against Russia are a prime example of what private businesses can do, Lesia Vasylenko, a Ukrainian Member of Parliament tweeted.
