NEW YORK, (Reuters) – New York’s attorney general suffered a defeat in her corruption case against National Rifle Association. On Wednesday, a judge denied her attempt to disband the gun rights group.
Justice Joel Cohen, a New York State Court in Manhattan, stated that Attorney General Letitia’s accusations mostly concern private harm to NRA members, donors and officers. If proven, targeted, less intrusive relief can be provided.
James is a Democrat and can file other claims against NRA or individual defendants. This includes Wayne LaPierre, the long-serving Chief Executive of the NRA.
