NEW YORK (Reuters) – Wells Fargo (NYSE:) & Co’s head of communications and brand management, Barri Rafferty, is leaving the bank in May, a spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.

Rafferty had been in charge of improving bank’s image and communication strategy according to a memo viewed last week by Reuters. Rafferty announced Rafferty’s resignation to employees.

Rafferty joined Wells Fargo in 2020. This is several years after Wells Fargo attempted to repair its image following the scandal involving its sales accounts.

The memo, dated Friday by Bill Daley (vice chairman of public relations), stated, “Barri brought an innovation approach to our communication,”. We’ve noticed our reputation metrics improving which has resulted in increased favorability, trust, and… media sentiment.

Rafferty has yet to be named as his replacement.
