Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index rose by 0.95% at the NSE close, and the stock market gained 1.0%.

They were the top performers at the session Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS.:) rose by 4.28% to reach 117.05 at close. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS) gained 3.93%, or 32.35 point to close at 855.00. Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (NS) was up 3.61 percent or 23.85 to 683.70 late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS): fell 4.81%, or 29.80 point to close at 589.95 Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (NS:), fell 4.20%, or 7.85 point to close at 179.10. Tata Steel Ltd (NS) fell 1.73%, or 22.40 point to 1,269.50

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. rose 3.99% at 855.55, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO) was up 3.29% at 3,599.95, and NTPC Ltd. (BO) gained 2.77% at 133.60.

Tata Steel Ltd.(BO:), which fell 1.73% to 1,269.35 late trade, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. [BO:] which dropped 0.49% to settle in at 212.05, and Titan Company Ltd. (“BO:”) which declined 0.32% to close at 2,382.00.

In India, declining stocks were outnumbered by rising ones by 1326 to 471, while 36 ended unchanged. On Bombay Stock Exchange however, 2107 rose and 145 decreased, while 98 closed unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was at 28.59, down 2.53%.

The April delivery of Gold Futures was up by 0.76%, or 15.15, to $2.011.05 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 3.71 percent or $3.71 to reach $123.11 per barrel. The May Brent oil contract rose 4.12 or 3.34% to trade at $127.33 per barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.17%, to 76.95. EUR/INR rose by 0.22%, to 83.70.

At 99.16, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.14%.
