NEW YORK (Reuters). A U.S. Judge on Tuesday dismissed Virginia Giuffre’s complaint accusing Prince Andrew of abusing her sexually when she was underage. Britain’s finance minister confirmed that no public money were involved in the settlement.

Andrew and Giuffre requested the dismissal of U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan at Manhattan Federal Court. This was in response to the February 15 settlement between Giuffre, Queen Elizabeth and her second son.

Andrew also made an undisclosed donation to Giuffre’s charity for victims’ rights.

Andrew, Duke of York did not confess to wrongdoing when he agreed to settle the civil suit. Andrew has not been charged with criminal wrongdoing.

The comment was made by the finance ministry after The Sun (a British tabloid) reported that Andrew’s younger brother Prince Charles was funding most of the settlement. The queen also contributed.

Giuffre had been focusing on Andrew’s friendship and sexual abuse with Jeffrey Epstein (the financier and sex offenders) in her case.

Giuffre claimed that Andrew, now 62, denies Giuffre’s allegations that he made her have sex at 17 years old. Andrew was living in London with Ghislaine Maxwell (Epstein associate), Epstein’s Manhattan mansion and Epstein’s private island on the U.S Virgin Islands.

Andrew’s relationships with Epstein and the allegations severely damaged Andrew’s reputation.

Andrew stated that he regrets his association to Epstein and accepts Giuffre’s abuse victims.

Epstein committed suicide at the age of 66 while in Manhattan’s jail while awaiting his trial for sex-trafficking charges. Maxwell seeks a fresh trial following his December conviction for recruiting and grooming girls under the age of 18 to abuse Epstein.
