Axie Infinity was in serious trouble on March 11th after an NFT bug was discovered. Gamers took to twitter (NYSE:), to express their dismay at the situation. Many lost their Match Making Rankings.

Axie Infinity published a Twitter account on March 14 detailing their actions.

Our team found a bug that prevented the opponent from loading into the game. An account that was playing with the bugged Axie won a surrender and received a win.

Further, they said that the reset MMR was done for the accounts who exploited this bug in order to obtain MMR. A patch was also installed to stop anyone else from exploiting the bug.

Each player is assigned a MMR ranking to determine their skill level so they can match up with the right opponent. This rank also determines the amount of Smooth Love Potion (SLP) — the game’s token — a player can acquire for every victory in the player-vs-player (PVP) arena.

Last week’s bug allowed for a player without having to play in order to win PVP duels. It would prevent the opponent from loading into the game, resulting in an instant loss. The bug exploiter could gain more SLP tokens and climb the ranks.

Axie Infinity, an NFT-based online game created by Sky Mavis in Vietnam is called. Axie Infinity is currently in development. As such, there have been many bugs and glitches within the Axie community. AxieInfinity was published in 2020. The game’s popularity erupted in the middle of 2021 when it saw more than 2 million daily active players.
