Warner Bros. launches hybrid trading cards that can be redeemed NFTs

American entertainment company Warner Bros. has teamed up with Cartamundi to create the first ever hybrid DC card collection.

These DC Comics-inspired trading card packs, totaling 6,000,000, will come with redeemable NFTs. They are priced between $5 and $120. The cards come with unique QR codes that link the card’s physical counterpart to the Hro app. This app will allow buyers to have access round the clock to a worldwide market to purchase and sell their cards.

It is possible to build and maintain a unique collection of DC movie and DC art memorabilia.

The NFTs, which will be minted on Ethereum’s sidechain Immutable X, will feature a host of 155 different characters from the DC comic universe.

A multiverse of DC superheroes and villains can be unlocked by fans, while a limited edition of the cards featuring characters from the new epic action film ‘The Batman’ will also be released.

Pam Lifford, President of Warner Media Global Brands and Experience stated:

Over the years, trading cards have been beloved by many. Combining that enthusiasm for collecting with a custom NFT is just brilliant, and this program brings the DC brand to fans in a way that’s never been done before […]The platform allows fans to connect with favorite DC Multiverse characters in a new and exciting way. It also gives them the opportunity to expand their interaction with fellow collectors.
