Ripple loses its director of developer relations. Here’s what you should knowSince the beginning of 2015, Ripple’s protracted fight with the SEC has been dominating the news. Ripple has made some progress in its legal fight, but it was hit hard by the departure of one its most senior directors.
Matt Hamilton, Ripple’s director of developer relations, announced on March 16 that he was resigning from the position. This announcement came after only one year at Ripple.
Matt Hamilton: Who are you?
Matt Hamilton, a veteran developer joined Ripple as Director of Developer Relations in January 2021 to help expand the XRP ecosystem.
Hamilton played a key role in Ripple’s launch of the XRP Ledger Grants programme. Hamilton also hosts the RippleXDev channel on Twitch, Discord, and organizes XRPL hackathons.
Hamilton worked for several technology giants before he took on Ripple’s job. IBM (NYSE:) & HP (NYSE:).
Helping his Family by Taking a Step Down
According to a blog post published by Matt Hamilton, 2021 was a “bad year” for him due to his wife’s mental health. He said he would be focusing solely on his family.
Hamilton explained that he will be stepping down from his role at Ripple after realizing that he’s “spinning too many plates.”
Expressing his gratitude to Ripple for the “both personal and professional” support, Hamilton says he will remain an active member of the XRP community.
