(Reuters] -A U.S. Court dismissed a lawsuit filed against Amazon.com Inc. on Friday. It claimed that third-party sellers were prohibited from offering lower prices elsewhere and thus violated the antitrust provisions.

Judge Hiram Puig-Lugo of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia granted Amazon’s motion to dismiss the complaint filed last year by Washington D.C. attorney general Karl Racine.

In an email statement by the Office of the Attorney General, a spokesperson stated that the Superior Court made a mistake and that it did not consider the details of the lawsuit. It also ignored a decision of a federal judge to permit a similar case to proceed. The spokesperson added that the office is considering legal alternatives.

However, the decision didn’t state any reasons for dismissing this case.

Amazon didn’t immediately reply to Reuters’ request for comment.

Racine said that prices could be more expensive for certain products on Amazon-like platforms, as Amazon’s prices can include fees up to 40%.

Amazon has closed an $8.5B deal with MGM to purchase it. The transaction combines MGM’s famed filmmaker, James Bond and Rocky with the Seattle-based retail giant. Amazon is trying to increase its appeal to consumers by offering more streaming video.
