WASHINGTON, (Reuters) –Russian allegations that Kyiv is equipped with chemical and biological weapons show that Russian President Vladimir Putin may use them in the war against Ukraine. U.S. President Joe Biden stated Monday that without citing any evidence.

Putin’s back is against the wall. Biden spoke at Business Roundtable about how he now talks about fake flags, such as claiming America has biological and chemical weapons in Europe.

“They also suggested that Ukraine might have biological or chemical weapons. It’s clear that he is considering using them both.

Washington’s Russian Embassy did not respond immediately to our request for comment.

This comment was echoed by Washington-based officials as well as those from allied nations who had previously accused Russia of spreading the unproven claim Ukraine had a bio weapons program in preparation for launching their own chemical and biological attacks.

Russia’s defense ministry accused Kyiv of plotting a chemical attack against its citizens, but has not provided any evidence. This was in an attempt to accuse Moscow that it used chemical weapons in the invasion of Ukraine, which began Feb. 24, 2014.

Jake Sullivan, the U.S. national safety adviser, spoke to Nikolay Patrushev (secretary of Russia’s Security Council), earlier this month warning him about possible consequences for any Russian decision to use biological or chemical weapons in Ukraine. However, the White House didn’t specify exactly what these consequences might be.

Russia’s “special military operation” against Ukraine has been largely stopped. Although it failed to seize any large cities, the invasion caused widespread destruction in residential areas.

Ukraine declared Monday that it wouldn’t obey Russian orders after Moscow ordered it to cease defending Mariupol. There, hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed by Russian bombings.
