Arab attacker kills four in Israel and is shot to death -police -Breaking

JERUSALEM (Reuters). -An Arab assailant attacked the Israeli town of Beersheba in southern Israel on Tuesday. A passerby shot him in the head. This attack was one of the worst in Israel’s history, according to emergency services and police.

The attacker was not immediately claimed to be responsible. Israeli media identified the attacker, an Arab citizen of Israel and a former teacher at high school who was imprisoned for links to Islamic State.

Eli Levy, an Eli Levy police spokesperson stated that it appeared to be one terrorist who was on a stabbing spree. A civilian shot him and took control.

According to the Magen David Ambulance Service, three people died and one was seriously injured in the attack on a gas station.

As the Muslim holy month Ramadan approaches, tensions are rising in Israel and Palestine. This is a time when violence used to erupt in the past.

Recent weeks have seen several Palestinian stabbing attacks in East Jerusalem as well as the occupied West Bank. Some of the suspects were shot by Israeli forces.
