JAKARTA (Reuters – Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to attend a G20 Summit being hosted by Indonesia this year. The announcement was made by Russia’s Ambassador in Jakarta on Wednesday. It comes after calls from some of its members to exclude the country.

Ambassador Lyudmila Vorobieva stated that Russia many organizations are trying to expulse Russia the West’s reaction is completely disproportional.

Sources familiar with the talks told Reuters that the United States and its Western Allies are evaluating whether Russia should be included in the Group of Twenty (G20), grouping of large economies, following the invasion of Ukraine.
