(Reuters) –Nikola Corp shares rose by 15% Thursday as Wall Street rejoiced that the company had started production on time for its electric vehicle.

At its Wednesday analyst day, electric-vehicle producer Tre announced that the Coolidge facility in Arizona had begun manufacturing BEV Tre batteries on March 21. It would also deliver 300 to 500 semi trucks this year.

Phoenix-based Tre BEV expects to begin production at its German factory in June 2023.

Many electric vehicle manufacturers, including traditional automakers Ford Motor (NYSE.) Co and General Motors(NYSE.), have entered this segment. They plan to release their first EVs in the coming year due to increased demand. However, higher raw materials prices and problems with their supply chains have hampered their plans.

Jeffrey Kauffman of Vertical Research Partners stated that Nikola’s story now has more credibility as trucks roll off the lines. Additionally, the company may surprise new customers by placing orders.

Nikola anticipates that Tre BEV will have positive gross margins by 2023. It could increase to 20% in 2025. In 2022, it is expecting a net loss of between 60% and 75%.

Michael Shlisky, DA Davidson analyst said that NKLA had “the feeling” of learning from other EV manufacturers looking to increase production.

According to data analysis firm Ortex, traders hold a short position of approximately 27.5% Nikola’s free floating.

Nikola shares traded at $10.52 On Wednesday, Nikola shares were trading at $10.52.
