REUTERS/Evelyn HocksteinWASHINGTON, (Reuters) – U.S. job opportunities fell in February but remained close to record highs due to companies continuing to struggle for scarce workers.
According to the Labor Department’s monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) report, 17,000 jobs were lost, which is a sign of low labor demand.
Although there were two consecutive months of declines, December’s record 11.448million-plus number of open jobs was not far away. Reuters polled economists to forecast 11.448 million vacancies.
