U.S. to unveil revised fuel economy regulations on Friday — officials -Breaking

REUTERS/Mike BlakeWASHINGTON (Reuters), – Friday’s U.S. Transportation Department plans to announce new fuel economy regulations that reverse previous administration’s rollbacks, officials announced.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in August, proposed raising requirements by 8% each year for model years 2024-2026. According to the department, Pete Buttigieg (Transport Secretary) and Steven Cliff (NHTSA Deputy Administrator) “will make major announcements on fuel economy standards on Friday.”
