BEIJING, (Reuters) – China’s Foreign Ministry has warned that the U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi would visit Taiwan. This warning came after media reports that she will be there next week.

China opposes official relations between Taiwan and America, Zhao Lijian (ministry spokesperson) told reporters in Beijing.

Pelosi’s bureau and Taiwan’s government haven’t confirmed that the visit is possible.
