SHANGHAI, (Reuters) – Three people were infected by COVID-19 and died Sunday at Shanghai’s financial center. This is the first death reported during this current epidemic among coronavirus victims.
There were 19,831 COVID-19 daily new asymptomatic COVID-19 patients reported by the city on April 17. This is compared to 21,582 cases the previous day. The number of new symptomatic COVID-19 cases decreased from 3,238 to 2,417.
Since March 10, the city has performed more than 200,000,000 nucleic acids tests in an effort to stop China’s largest COVID-19 epidemic since late 2019 when coronaviruses were first detected in Wuhan.
