REUTERS/David Gray(Reuters) -An Australian wealth manager AMP (OTC) Ltd announced on Thursday that it had sold AMP Capital’s international equity business in infrastructure for as much as A$699 million (or $497.83million). It will now be managed by the banking, wealth and advisory divisions.
AMP announced that AMP Capital has sold its real estate and domestic infrastructure equity businesses and that it had previously announced the sale of its infrastructure debt platform. The 172-year-old firm also exited its infrastructure investment management manager. It was valued at A$2.04 million.
This sale ends AMP’s long-running quest to get out of private markets and focuses on wealth management.
After a Royal Commission into Financial Services Industry in 2017, which resulted, among other things, in the exodus and numerous corporate misconduct allegations, the company is currently reorganizing its strategy.
