WASHINGTON (Reuters), – The U.S. president Biden indicated Tuesday that he is unsure whether the Supreme Court’s draft abortion decision was genuine or reflected a final judgment, but his administration is ready to take action to safeguard abortion rights once a ruling is made.

“I believe that a woman’s right to choose is fundamental,” Biden said in a statement, adding that if Roe v. Wade is overturned, elected officials will need to protect a woman’s right to choose and voters will need to elect pro-choice officials in November.
