Paul Tudor Jones is a manager of hedge funds and has shared his thoughts on volatile markets, which continue to punish those who are exposed to high amounts to stocks or bonds.

CNBC interviewed him to tell them that they are experiencing a worse environment than ever due to Federal Reserve’s extreme hawkishness.

“You can’t think of a worse environment than where we are right now for financial assets. Clearly you don’t want to own bonds and stocks,” he said on CNBC today.

Markets expect the Fed’s second increase this week to be by 50 basis points. This is the main reason why investors are operating in “uncharted territory,” Jones added.

“I think we’re in one of those very difficult periods where simply capital preservation is I think the most important thing we can strive for,” Tudor Jones said.

“I don’t know if it’s going to be one of those periods where you’re actually trying to make money.”

Tudor Jones, a central banker who believes the global economy is headed for a recession, says there are growing fears.

“They’ve got inflation on the one hand, slowing growth on the other, and they’re going to be clashing all the time,” Jones said.

He advises investors to stick to the trends-following strategy when giving advice.

“If there was a strategy that I would want to employ right now, if someone put a gun to my head, I’d say simple trend-following strategies. They’re not very well-known today. They will probably do very well in the next five to 10 years,” he concluded.
