BRUSSELS (Reuters), – New sanctions are being developed by the European Union against Russia to stop it from waging war in Ukraine. They will be directed at Russia’s oil industries, further Russia banks, as well as those who disinformation. This was stated Tuesday by the bloc’s top diplomat.

Josep Borrell (head of the EU’s foreign policy unit, executive European Commission) said via Twitter that “we are currently working on the sixth set of sanctions”

Borrell said that the Commission’s recommendations would be submitted to the 27 bloc member states for approval.

According to officials, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission is likely to outline the sanctions proposed on Wednesday. They would also include an import ban for Russian oil before the year ends.
