Wade, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell called for an investigation into a “lawless act” and said that the Justice Department should pursue criminal charges if necessary.
McConnell did not explicitly state that he was speaking about the draft decision, which had been leaked to Politico. “This lawless action should be investigated and punished as fully as possible. McConnell stated that the Chief Justice should investigate and pursue criminal charges against the Department of Justice if necessary.
