(Reuters) – Rudy Giuliani, the ex-Mayor of New York, is refusing permission to appear before the U.S. House of Representatives panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack.
Giuliani served as the attorney for former President Donald Trump before making this demand.
Mulvey explained that “Mr. Giuliani” is an important witness to conspiracy to overthrow government. Mulvey stated that if he doesn’t comply, the committee would consider every enforcement option.
A Giuliani attorney couldn’t be reached at this time for comment Thursday evening.
The tweet was from the former mayor, reporting on The Gateway Pundit that he asked for national television coverage to cover his scheduled testimony. This request had been rejected by The Committee.
While thousands of Trump supporters stormed Capitol building in January 2013, the committee tried to determine Trump’s actions. This sent members of Congress as well Mike Pence, then Vice President of USA, racing to get cover.
Congress was meeting to officially certify that Democrat Joe Biden defeated Republican Trump in November 2020’s presidential election.
The investigation involved more than 900 individuals, many of whom were aides to Trump White House.
