Shanghai says COVID infections on downward trend for 2 weeks -Breaking

SHANGHAI (Reuters – Since April 22, there has been a steady downward trend in the number COVID-19 cases in Shanghai, China’s financial center. Wu Qing, Wu Qing’s vice major for city affairs said that Friday’s announcement was based on the fact that Shanghai is experiencing a decline in COVID-19 infection rates.

He stated that “the city’s epidemiological prevention and control situation has steadily improved and the epidemic is under effective control.”

Shanghai recorded 4,024 local coronavirus cases in May 5th, a decrease of 4,390 the day prior. The number of confirmed symptomatic cases was 245 – down from 261 the day before. From 13 days earlier, death rates fell to 12
