Elon Musk declared Tuesday that he would reverse TwitterIf Trump’s acquisition is approved, the ban will be lifted on Trump.

“Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, or scam, spam accounts… I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” Musk said at FT Live’s Future of the Car conference. I believe that it was a mistake because it alienated large parts of the country, but did not result in Donald Trump losing his voice.”

Musk stated, “I would reverse a permanent ban.” Musk said, “I do not own Twitter.” This isn’t something that can happen immediately, since what if my Twitter account doesn’t exist?

Twitter permanently suspended Trump from the platform in January 2021 following the attack by his supporters on the U.S. Capitol. After the Jan. 6 riot, Trump was removed from the platform “due to further incitement for violence.” Trump was followed by more than 80,000,000 people on his platform at that point.

Musk made it clear that he is interested in taking control of the company to allow free speech. However, there were questions about Trump’s willingness to invite him back. Trump said last monthHe wouldn’t go back to work for the company, even if it was possible.

Trump stated to Joe Kernen on CNBC that he would not be returning to Twitter.

“I will be appearing on Truth Social during the week. It’s all on track. Many people have already signed up. I like Elon Musk. His personality is very appealing to me. He is a great person. While I was at The White House, Twitter helped us a lot. Twitter treated me poorly. He said that he would not return to Twitter.
