Most production has been halted by the Tesla (NASDAQ;) Shanghai plant due to ongoing difficulties. According to Reuters’ internal memo, there have been continued difficulties in securing components for the electric vehicle production plant.

Tesla was producing 1,200 units per minute after the factory was reopened following a 22-day shutdown in April. According to the memo Tesla intended to produce fewer than 200 cars on Tuesday.

Shanghai has entered its sixth week under an ever-intensifying lockdown, which has challenged the manufacturers’ ability to function amid strict restrictions on movement of goods and people.

Data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) shows that Tesla’s sales in China have slid by 98 percent in April, with Tesla producing 10,757 vehicles and selling just 1,512. In April, Tesla didn’t export any China-made Model 3s or Model Ys to its Shanghai facility.
